Dark Chocolate Cherry Protein Bites

Designed specifically to meet the high energy demands of highly active individuals, these protein bites provide a balance of fast-acting carbs and sustained healthy fats. Tart cherries add a rich source of antioxidants that assist in muscle soreness recovery, while the chia seeds and almond butter deliver slow-burning fuel. Formulating these dark chocolate cherry protein bites ensures portable nutrition for on-the-go fueling and recovery.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour

  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (or however many scoops you need for 25 grams protein)

  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (70% cocoa)

  • 1/3 cup dried tart cherries, chopped

  • 1/4 cup almond butter

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

  • 2-3 tbsp water (as needed to bind)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the oat flour, chocolate protein powder, and chia seeds.

  2. Stir in the chopped dried cherries and dark chocolate chips.

  3. Add the almond butter and mix thoroughly; slowly drizzle in water a tablespoon at a time until a sticky, shapeable dough forms.

  4. Roll the mixture into equal-sized energy bites and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before consuming.


This full recipe is about 660 calories and 36 grams protein.

If you roll out 6 bites they will be about 110 calories and about 6 grams protein each.
